Gateway Travel

Gateways are inter-constellation portals that connect different constellations of space. They're the only way to travel between constellations.

How to Use a Gateway

  1. Find a gateway — Gateways are located near constellation edges (3,000 units from the boundary)
  2. Fly within range — Get within 500 units of the gateway
  3. Press J — Activate the gateway
  4. Transition — A 2-second cutscene plays as you travel between constellations
  5. Arrive cloaked — You appear at the destination gateway with 20 seconds of invisibility

Post-Gateway Cloak

After arriving through a gateway, you're invisible for 20 seconds. This gives you time to:

  • Scout the destination constellation safely
  • Decide whether to continue or retreat
  • Move away from the gateway before being seen

The cloak breaks if you fire weapons or interact with objects.

Gateway Connections

Gateways are bidirectional — if constellation A has a gateway to constellation B, constellation B has a gateway back to constellation A.

Current Connections

  • Origin Constellation (0,0)Iron Fields (1,0)
  • Origin Constellation (0,0)Frontier Zone (-1,0)
Entering Dangerous Space

When using a gateway to enter a higher-tier constellation, be prepared! The Frontier Zone is a Red zone — ship loss is permanent. Make sure your bank holds anything you can't afford to lose.

Tips

  • Use the cloak wisely — After arriving, take a moment to scan for threats before revealing yourself
  • Gateway camping — Hostile players may camp gateways. Enter cautiously.
  • Quick retreat — If a constellation is too dangerous, turn around and use the same gateway (after the 10-second cooldown) to return
  • Cooldown planning — The 10-second cooldown means you can't instantly bounce between constellations. Plan your route.
